Setting the correct rpm of floor grinder for coating removal

What is the difference between speed and torque?

Speed: The speed of a motor, at its most basic form, is the rate at which the motor spins. Torque: The torque output of a motor, at its most basic form, is the amount of rotating force the motor develops. The torque of an electric motor is measured in pounds per force inch or lb-in.

What is the difference between speed and torque?

So more the torque, less is the angular speed required for the same rate of work consumption. If the input power is constant, torque and angular speed become inversely proportional. Only then does the angular speed decreases as the torque increases. When angular speed of the motor increases, the torque(rotating force) of the motor decreases and vice versa.
